Lee Michaels' Bio
Lee Michaels is an internationally acclaimed piano keyboardist, vocalist, and composer having entertained on three continents. He is an adventurous, modern creative entertainer, who sums up his musical philosophy saying, "Train your hands to be quicker than your ear, be a poet when writing lyrics, and be accountable to your audience when playing and composing music."
The versatile performer, born in Baltimore, Maryland, first came to the attention of critics and fans at 19 as featured solo pianist with the Strassen Ecke Symphony. While in Europe he performed in Bamburg, Illesheim, Nuremburg, and Wiesbaden. After 10 years of studying and performing in Europe he returned to the United States beginning active freelancing in the competitive New York City music world performing in places like Club 88. Following a year of club and private venues in the Big Apple, he returned to his home turf in the Baltimore and Washington DC area continuing his chosen career of live entertaining in clubs as well as private, corporate and public events. Using Baltimore as home base, he traveled to Florida in the winter of 1999, liking the Florida winters he purchased a home in Naples and has spent every winter there for a decade.
His considerable background in composing plus performing has afforded the opportunity to write commercial jingles, compose sound tracks for film and recording his own music. Although he performs with dedication in a recording studio with only the sound engineer as an audience, he readily admits his first love is performing live for an audience. Lee's 2008 debut album "My Life" was delayed when he was preempted in the studio by ACDC's urgency to complete their new release "Black Ice" album to coincide with their World Tour. His album premiered late 2008 and is now available on CD disc at, CDBaby.com, Amazon.com, or can be downloaded atDigstation.com, and Itunes.com.
Lee has performed for audiences in Europe, the United States, and South America as well as aboard ship. 2009 will find Lee on the road with his keyboards and laser lights beginning his Oblation Red Shoes Tour early 2009.
